I was trying to update my BIOS of my Intel motherboard. However being on Linux means I was unable to flash the BIOS conveniently from the desktop as Intel did not provide any such utilities (boo hoo hoo)
Interestingly enough, Dell seems to working on something along the lines of that but it seems applicable only to their product-lines as of this time of writing.
So what to do? I confess I tried burning a bootable ISO that was suppose to update the BIOS from Intel’s website. But for some strange reason, it would hung half-way.
So since that did not work, I ended up making a bootable USB drive from the below link and install BIOS from the DOS executable version of the BIOS update instead: http://wiki.fdos.org/Installation/BootDiskCreateUSB
